Technical Assistance:
Technical assistance was offered regarding the following: outdoor toys, annual caregiver trainings, children's records.

Comments:
An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted from 10:00 am to 11:45 am. There were 8 children (25 points) with three caregivers. The children were observed playing with play dough, toys, playing in the backyard, using the bathroom and washing hands between activities. There were no medications on site. A walk through of the family day home was conducted. Infant bottles, emergency supplies and plan were reviewed. Areas of non compliance are listed in the violation notice. Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-210-A
Description: Based on record review, each caregiver did not complete 16 hours of annual training.
Evidence:
1. Caregiver # 1's first day of employment was 5/14/18.
2. Caregiver # 1's record had documentation of only 9 hours of annual training.

Plan of Correction: Caregiver # 1 has done more trainings. I will find the documentation and keep with her record.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-240-A
Description: Based on observation, areas inside the family day home were not maintained in a safe condition.
Evidence: In the master bedroom, a lit candle was found on the dresser. The candle was unattended.

Plan of Correction: The candle was extinguished during the walk through of the home.
