Technical Assistance:

Prior to the license expiration date of 4/8/20, the provider shall forward documentation of the completion of remaining training hours for herself and each assistant caregiver.

Comments:

An unannounced full renewal inspection was conducted today. The provider and one assistant caregiver were caring for 8 children, totaling 20 points. Children's records, administrative records, emergency preparedness items, children's nutrition, caregiver/adult records, background checks, the physical plant, toys/materials, and caregiver interactions were inspected today. The children were observed actively engaged in activities such as singing songs, coloring pictures, playing with creative toys, interacting with each caregiver, and playing outside. The children were to be served pork chops, mashed potatoes, carrots, and milk for lunch today. This inspection was completed between approximately 10:20am and 12:00pm. Standard #:	22VAC40-111-800-B
Description:	Based on a review of administrative documents, it was determined that the provider did not document a review of the emergency plan at least annually. Evidence: The provider most recently documented a review of the emergency plan on 9/10/18.
Plan of Correction:	I will review the plan with my assistants this week.
Standard #:	22VAC40-111-120-B
Description:	Based on a review of caregiver records, it was determined that one record does not include all required information. Evidence: Assistant caregiver record B does not include: verification of the person's age; emergency contact information.
Plan of Correction:	I will make sure the missing information is updated for her file.
Standard #:	22VAC40-111-320-B
Description:	Based on observations, it was determined that two electrical outlets were not covered child-resistant covers. Evidence: The Inspector observed two electrical outlets that were not covered with outlet covers. Both of the uncovered outlets were on the bottom half of the wall in the child care room.
Plan of Correction:	The outlets will be covered today.
