Technical Assistance:
Discussion was held on the topics of current enrollment, current staffing, and Standard #320.B - Child-resistant protective covers larger than 1-1/4 inches in diameter shall be installed on all unused electrical outlets and surge protectors accessible to children under five years of age. Currently, the Family Day Home (FDH) serves only school-age children (5 years and older). However, the license starts at 3. The Provider stated that she has no immediate plans to enroll other children younger than 5. If younger children (below age 5) are enrolled, then the Provider understands that all accessible outlets and surge protectors shall be installed with covers.

The following inspection took place between the hours of 3 pm through 5 pm. Today, I met with the Provider on site at the Family Day Home (FDH) located in near the town of Aldie, Virginia. At the start of this unannounced renewal inspection there were a total of 4 children observed (3 points) with 1 caregiver. A total of 7 children?s files, 1 staff file, and 3 household member?s files were reviewed. The children were engaged in the following: snack (brought from home), homework, learning, academic games, tutoring, study, and other organized activities. If you should have any future questions, please call or send an e-mail to Thank you.

Licensing Inspector

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-800-B
Description: Based on review and interview, the Provider did not annually review the Emergency Preparedness & Response Plan (EP&RP) and document in writing the date of this review.

Evidence -
1. On the date of inspection (03/05/2020), the most recent documented review of the Family Day Home's EP&RP was dated - 08/25/2018.
2. The Provider stated (during an interview conducted on the date of inspection) that there were no current updates to the EP&RP.

Plan of Correction: Corrected on the date of inspection. The plan was reviewed and the Provider signed and dated it.
