Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today between the hours of 9:45am through 10:45am with the provider on site. There were 5 children (12 points) with the provider. A sample of 2 children's files and 3 staff/household member's files were reviewed. The children were engaged in the following: toy play and watching tv. The physical space, evacuation drills and attendance records were reviewed. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the violation notice. Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-730-D
Description: Based on observation, medications for caregivers or household members were not kept in a locked place using a safe locking method that prevents access by children.
Evidence:
1. 2 prescription medication containers with medication inside them were on the kitchen counter near the window and were not kept locked.

Plan of Correction: The medication was removed immediately.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-830-A
Description: Based on interview and review of records, the emergency evacuation procedures were not practiced monthly with all caregivers and children in care during all shifts that children are in care.
Evidence:
1. The caregiver stated she had not practiced the emergency evacuation procedures since November 2019.
2. The emergency evacuation procedures documented the last drill in October 2019.

Plan of Correction: I will begin doing the monthly fire drills.
