Discussed with the provider the spacing of shelter-in-place drills.

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted today from 10:00am to 11:15am with the provider. There were no daycare children in attendance during the inspection, though there are school age children enrolled. Four children?s records and the provider's record were reviewed and were in compliance. The provider has current certification in CPR and First Aid. The provider does not administer medication and she is aware that she must obtain certification in Medication Administration Training (MAT) in order to do so. The first aid kit, flashlight, and weather band radio were observed and were in compliance. The emergency drill log, attendance, and menu were also reviewed. The most recent evacuation drill was documented 2/29/20 and the most recent shelter-in-place was documented 5/23/20. Standard #: 22VAC40-111-50-A Description: Based on interview with the provider, the family day home did not keep a written record of children in attendance each day. Evidence: The Licensing Inspector requested the attendance for last week since no daycare children were in attendance yet today and the provider stated that she had not documented attendance last week. Plan of Correction: I will post it on my wall to make sure I remember to do it every day moving forward.
