Technical Assistance:
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A renewal inspection was initiated on 05/13/2020 and concluded on 05/14/2020. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 1 children present and 1 staff. The inspector emailed the provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 3 children?s records, 1 staff record and 1 household member record submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-191-40-D-1-a
Description: Based on record review and interview, it was determined that the Provider did not ensure that all caregivers have in their files the result of a Central Registry search request every five years.
Evidence:
1) The record for Staff #1 did not contain documentation of a current Central Registry search request. The most recent Central Registry search results were dated 01/29/2015.
2) The Provider stated that they did not realize the Central Registry search had expired.

Plan of Correction: I will submit the Central Registry search request as soon as possible.

Standard #: 22VAC40-191-40-D-4-a
Description: Based on record review and interview, it was determined that the Provider did not ensure that all persons living in the home have in their files the result of a Central Registry search request every five years.
Evidence:
1) The record for Household Member #1 did not contain documentation of a current Central Registry search request. The most recent Central Registry search results was dated 01/29/2015.
2) The Provider stated that they did not realize the Central Registry search had expired.

Plan of Correction: As soon as the situation with COVID-19 makes it safe to go out of the house, I will submit the Central Registry search request.
