Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.

A virtual monitoring inspection was initiated and concluded on May 21, 2020. The provider was contacted by a video call to initiate the inspection. There were no children in care as the daycare was closed due to the COVID-19 State of Emergency. The inspector viewed a list of items required to complete the inspection. The inspector virtually reviewed two children?s records and two staff records to ensure documentation was complete.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with an applicable standard and a violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

The Licensing Inspector reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-60-B
Description: Based on the review of two children's records and confirmation from the provider, the record for one child did not contain all of the required information.

Evidence:
1. The record for Child #2 did not contain the parent's signed copy of the provider's policy regarding the administration of medications. Date of enrollment for Child #2 was 01/16/2018.
2. The provider confirmed the signed copy of her Medication Administration Policy was not in the child's file.

Plan of Correction: The provider will ensure the parent receives a copy of the policy as soon as the daycare reopens.
