This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A renewal inspection was initiated on 5/22/2020. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were no children present, but children will be coming next week.
Two children's files were reviewed and 3 staff records submitted by the facility were found to be complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined a noncompliance with applicable standards or law. Violations were documented on the notice issued to facility, along with a plan of correction. ,
Standard #: 22VAC40-191-40-D-4-a Description: Based on a review of household records during the inspection, it was determined that the background checks for one household member did not meet the standard.
The fingerprint, Sworn Disclosure and Search of the Child Registry forms present for Household Member # 2 were provided by another child care facility, but background checks are not transferrable.
Plan of Correction: He has made an appointment for the fingerprints, and will re-do the Sworn Statement and Search of the Child Registry. We did not realize that these were not correct. We will send them to you when they come back.
