Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A subsidy health and safety inspection was initiated on 07/07/2020 and concluded on 07/09/2020. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 5 children present and 3 staff. A licensing inspection was conducted on the same date as the SHSI supplemental inspection. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy regulations that are not covered in licensing standards are reviewed during this supplemental inspection. The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with subsidy regulations, and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility. If you have any questions regarding this inspection, please contact the Licensing Inspector, Maria Robles at maria.robles-lopez@dss.virginia.gov.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-665-160-B
Description: Based on review of the attendance record, it was determined that the provider did not document the arrival the arrival and departure of each child in care as it occurs.
Evidence:
1) The attendance record for the week documented the name of the children in care each day but did not document their arrival and departure.

Plan of Correction: I will include the arrival and departure of each child daily.

Standard #: 22VAC40-665-410-A-3
Description: Based on documentation review, lockdown procedures were not practiced at least annually.
Evidence:
1) The emergency drills log available for review included the months of January 2020 through June 2020. There was no lockdown drill documented for these months. An emergency drills log for the months January-December of 2019 was not available for review at the time of inspection.

Plan of Correction: I will make sure to conduct a lockdown drill in the following months. I will not discard the emergency drills log from the previous year.
