Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternative remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. An on-site inspection of the home was not conducted at this time however, a portion of the inspection included a virtual component which allowed the inspector to observe the children and daycare areas of the home.

An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted. There were 5 children in care = 9 points with the provider. Ratios and supervision were in compliance. Children were doing online school work, writing their names, and playing indoors at the time of the virtual call. The home appeared to be clean, safeguarded appropriately, and well supplied with toys and equipment for the children. The inspector reviewed 2 child records submitted by the provider to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or laws, and a violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the provider. Questions about this inspection may be directed to pamela.sneed@dss.virginia.gov

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-90-A
Description: Based on interview conducted, it was determined that 1 of 2 children's records did not include documentation of immunizations. Evidence: Child #8 - The provider said the parent has not yet provided a copy of the immunizations, as she needs to get a copy from the school.

Plan of Correction: The parent will provide a copy of the immunizations to the provider. In the future, this will be required before a child is allowed to attend.
