63.2 Licensure and Registration Procedures

Technical Assistance:
One or more background check was missing during today's renewal inspection. The Licensing Inspector has informed the provider that the renewal application cannot be submitted for approval until the results of the missing background check have been reviewed for compliance. Once the results of the missing background check have been obtained, please contact your inspector as soon as possible.

Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.

A renewal inspection was initiated on 9/17/2020 and concluded on 9/21/2020. The Provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 2 children present with 2 staff. The inspector emailed the Provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The inspector reviewed 3 children?s records 2 staff records and 2 household member records submitted by the Provider to ensure documentation was complete.

The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or laws and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

The licensing inspector has reviewed with the Provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-170-A
Description: Based on interview, the provider has not obtained a negative tuberulosis test result within 30 days of a household member turning 18 years of age.
Evidence: Household member #2 turned 18 years old on 8/8/2020. The provider has not yet obtained the results of a TB screening.

Plan of Correction: They got the blood test done last week and the doctors office said the results could take 5-7 days. I should have the results this week.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-180-A
Description: Based on record review and interview, the provider has not obtained subsequent tuberculosis (TB) screenings every two years for each household member.
Evidence: Household member #1's most recent TB screening is dated 3/26/2018. The provider has not yet obtained the results of a follow-up TB screening.

Plan of Correction: They got the blood test done last week and the doctors office said the results could take 5-7 days. I should have the results this week.

Standard #: 63.2-1721.1-B-2
Description: Based on interview, the provider has not obtained fingerprint background check results within 30 days of a household member turning 18 years of age.
Evidence: Household member #2 turned 18 years old on 8/8/2020. The provider stated that the household member went to get their fingerprinting done last week but results have not yet been obtained.

Plan of Correction: They got the fingerprinting done last week and I haven't received the results yet. I should have them this week and will send them as soon as I get them.
