An out of state search of the sex offender registry must be completed for all staff who have resided outside of the state of Virginia within the past 5 years. In addition, an out of state criminal history record search must be completed for staff who have resided in any non-NFF states within the past 5 years.

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A renewal inspection was initiated on 9/28/2020 and concluded on 9/28/2020. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There was 1 child present and 1 caregiver staff. The inspector emailed the provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 1 child?s records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with one applicable standard or law and one violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-830-A Description: Based on a review of emergency drill documentation, it was determined the provider did not practice the emergency evacuation procedures monthly with all caregivers and children in care during all shifts that children are in care.
Evidence:
The provider did not conduct an evacuation drill during the months of June, July, and August 2020.Plan of Correction: I will remember to do a drill every month.
