The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the Provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated and concluded on 10/07/2020. The Provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were (4) children present (8 points) with (1) caregiver. The inspector emailed the Provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed (2) children?s records, (1) staff record, and (1) household member's record submitted by the Family Day Home (FDH) to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliances with applicable standards or law and were documented on a violation notice issued to the FDH.

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-830-A Description: Based on interview, the emergency evacuation procedures were not practiced monthly with the caregiver and children in care.
1. The Provider stated (during an interview conducted on the date of inspection, 10/09/2020) that since the Family Day Home (FDH) has reopened for care, emergency evacuation procedures were not practiced monthly.
2. The Provider stated fire drills were missed for the months of August and September 2020.
Plan of Correction: These drills shall resume during the month of October, and monthly thereafter.
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-920 Description: Based on interview, a weekly menu was not posted or placed in an area accessible to parents.
1. The Provider stated (during an interview conducted on the date of inspection, 10/09/2020) that a current menu was not posted.
2. Currently there is only (1) child in care.
Plan of Correction: A currently weekly menu shall be posted of the food served for both snack and meals for the children in care.
