This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
A monitoring inspection was initiated on 11/13/2020 and concluded on 11/18/2020. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 5 children present and 1 staff. The inspector emailed the provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 2 children?s records, 1 staff record, and 1 household member's record submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.
Standard #: 22VAC40-191-40-D-1-c Description: Based on record reviews, the provider failed to obtain repeat background checks.
1. The inspector reviewed one staff record and one household member's record. The search of the central registry for both were over five years old. Both searches of the central registry were dated 08/18/2015.
Plan of Correction: The provider will request repeat searches of the central registry for the staff and the household member this week. Results of the background checks will be sent to the licensing office when they are received.
