Technical Assistance:
New out-of-state background check requirements for caregivers & household members reviewed. Written information emailed.

Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.

A monitoring inspection was initiated on 12/07/2020 and concluded on 12/11/2020. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 6 children present with 2 caregivers. The inspector emailed the provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The inspector reviewed 2 caregiver records and 3 children's records submitted by the provider to ensure documentation was complete.

The information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the provider.

The licensing inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care Programs.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-180-A
Description: Based on record review and interview, the provider failed to obtain for each caregiver a current Report of Tuberculosis Screening form, in accordance with the requirements in 22 VAC 40-111-170, every two years from the date of the first screening.

1. The most recent TB screening for caregiver 1 was completed on 01/31/2018.
a. Caregiver 1 confirmed this as the most recent TB screening.

Plan of Correction: Caregiver 1 has an appointment with her physician on 12/24/2020. An updated screening will be obtained at this appointment.
