Technical Assistance:
An out of state search of the sex offender registry must be completed for all staff/household residents (Family Day Homes) who have resided outside of the state of Virginia within the past 5 years. In addition, an out of state criminal history record search must be completed for staff/household residents who have resided in any non-NFF states within the past 5 years.

Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.

A monitoring inspection was initiated and concluded on 12/16/2020. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 8 children present and 2 caregiver staff. The inspector emailed the provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 2 children?s records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and one violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-180-A
Description: Based on a review of caregiver health records, it was determined that the provider has not obtained for each caregiver and adult household member a current Report of Tuberculosis Screening form, in accordance with the requirements in 22 VAC 40-111-170, every two years from the date of the first screening or more frequently as recommended by a physician or the local health department.
Evidence:
The TB Health Screenings for the provider and one assistant caregiver have expired. The provider's screening expired on 3/2/20; the assistant's health screening expired on 11/1/20.

Plan of Correction: We will both get a new screening completed as soon as possible. There might be delays given the current health pandemic.
