Comments:

This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A renewal inspection was conducted on January 22, 2021. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 12 children present and 2 staff. The inspector emailed the provider a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 2 children?s records and 2 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Standard #:	63.2-1720.1-A
Description:	Based on provider statement and record review, two caregivers did not undergo a central registry check every five years. Evidence: 1. Adult 1's most recent central registry check was conducted on 11/13/2015. 2. Adult 2's most recent central registry check was conducted on 11/13/2015.
Plan of Correction:	Both background checks were requested prior to inspection and the provider is awaiting the results. Results will be forwarded to the licensing inspector when they arrive. The central registry checks lapsed as the request form requires a signature in the presence of a notary, both the hours of the family day home operations and the national health emergency prevented a timely request of the repeat background check.
