Technical Assistance:
The following standards were discussed:
Potentially poisonous substances, materials and supplies such as, but not limited to, cleaning agents, disinfectants, deodorizers, plant care chemicals, pesticides, and petroleum distillates shall be stored away from food in areas inaccessible to children.
The forms required for children's records were emailed to the provider.
Diapering surface must be cleaned & sanitized after each use.
"Cleaned" means treated in such a way as to remove dirt and debris by scrubbing and washing with soap and water or detergent solution and rinsing with water.
"Sanitized" means treated in such a way as to remove bacteria and viruses from inanimate surfaces through first cleaning and secondly using a solution of one tablespoon of bleach mixed with one gallon of water and prepared fresh daily or using a sanitizing solution approved by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The surface of the item is sprayed or dipped into the sanitizing solution and then allowed to air dry.

Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia.
An initial inspection was initiated on 2/25/21 and concluded on 2/25/21. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. The provider was contacted by telephone to initiate the virtual inspection. All areas of the home that the children would be using inside and out were inspected. The emergency response plan and the provider?s and household member?s records were reviewed.
Information gathered during the inspection determined noncompliance with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-790
Description: Based on observation and interview, the provider failed to ensure the number for the following are posted: the 911 or local dial number for police, fire, and emergency medical responders; the responsible person for emergency backup care; and the regional poison control center.

Evidence:

1. The bulletin board that the provided stated everything is posted did not have numbers posted.
2. The provider stated she did not have the numbers posted.

Plan of Correction: The provider posted the numbers the day of the inspection.
