Technical Assistance:
The Licensing Inspector has reviewed with the provider COVID-19 Essential Guidance for Child Care programs.

Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, necessary due to a state of emergency health pandemic declared by the Governor of Virginia. A monitoring inspection was initiated on 04/19/2021 and concluded on 04/2/2021. The in-charge person was contacted by telephone to initiate the inspection. There were 6 children present and 1 caregiver. The inspector emailed the in-charge person a list of items required to complete the inspection. The Inspector reviewed 2 children?s records and 2 staff records submitted by the facility to ensure documentation was complete. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance(s) with applicable standards or law and violations were documented on the violation notice issued to the facility.

Violations:

Standard #: 22VAC40-111-320-B
Description: Based on observation the licensee did not ensure all electrical outlets had protective covers.
Evidence:
There were 2 electrical outlets located in the kitchen that did not have protective covers.

Plan of Correction: The licensee placed covers over the electrical outlets during the inspection.

Standard #: 63.2-1720.1-A
Description: Based on observation the licensee did not ensure all caregivers had the results of repeated central registry checks, 5 years from the date of the last one.
Evidence:
Caregiver #1 and #2's last central registry check was dated 04/17/16.

Plan of Correction: The licensee will send for both central registry checks this week.
