Technical Assistance:
The Inspector reviewed the new requirement for the family day home to have at least one working carbon monoxide detector in place in the home. The provider was able to demonstrate full compliance with this requirement.

Comments:
This inspection was conducted by licensing staff using an alternate remote protocol, including telephone contacts, documents review, and a virtual tour of the program.

A renewal inspection was initiated and concluded on 10/7/2021. The provider was contacted by telephone and a virtual inspection was conducted. There were 9 children present (20points), ranging in ages from 3months to 2years, with the provider and two assistant caregivers supervising. The Inspector reviewed compliance in the areas of administration, physical plant, staffing and supervision, programming, medication, special care and emergencies and nutrition. A total of 2 children's records and 3 caregiver records were reviewed.

Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and one violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-111-580-C
Description: Based on provider interviews, it was determined that outdoor activities are not provided daily.
Evidence:
The provider reported to the Inspector that the children go outside "once or twice per week."

Plan of Correction: We will start taking the children outside for play time every day.
