54.1 Provider must be MAT certified to administer prescription medication.

Technical Assistance:
Technical assistance was provided regarding medication administration procedures, MAT training, medication authorization forms and chocking prevention.
The medication authorization form was emailed to the provider, as well as the link to MAT online training center.

Comments:
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 11:30am-12:40pm. There were 6 children (15 points) directly supervised by 2 staff. The home, 2 staff records, 4 children?s records, 1 household member?s record, evacuation drills, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed playing freely and eating lunch. Lunch consisted of spinach and cheese pizza, cucumbers and grapes. There was an adequate supply of books, toys, and materials for the children. The home was clean and organized. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law and violation was documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-690-D
Description: Based on observation , the diapering surface was observed to not be nonabsorbent.

Evidence:
There was a small tear on the surface of the diapering mat, therefore, is no longer considered nonabsorbent.

Plan of Correction: A new changing pad has been purchased and the old one will be discarded.
