Comments:
This Subsidy Health and Safety Inspection (SHSI) was initiated by licensing staff and concluded on 10/14/2022, between the hours of 10 am to 12 pm. There were 2 children present (4 points), with 1 caregiver supervising. A licensing inspection was also conducted on this date. Both inspections combined cover subsidy health and safety regulations. Only subsidy requirements that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this supplemental inspection.

Information gathered during the inspection determined (2) non-compliances with the applicable standards. Violations were documented on the Violation Notice issued to the home.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-170-G
Description: Based on review, 2 of 2 children files indicated that the vendor did not maintain a current written list of all children's allergies, sensitivities, and dietary restrictions.

Evidence -
1. On the date of inspection, the allergies documented within the records of Child #1, and Child #2 were not compiled on an allergy list for the Family Day Home (FDH).
2. This same standard was cited during an inspection that occurred previously on 09/28/2022.

Plan of Correction: All missing documentation and/or information will be obtained.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-190-B-12
Description: Based on review, 2 of 2 children files indicated that a written care plan for each child with a diagnosed food allergy, to include instructions from a physician regarding the food to which the child is allergic and the steps to be taken in the event of a suspected or confirmed allergic reaction was not available.

Evidence -
1. On the date of inspection (10/14/2022), an allergy was listed within the child record of the following children: Child #1, and Child #2. An action allergy plan was not available for review for either child.
2. This same standard was cited during an inspection that occurred previously on 09/28/2022.

Plan of Correction: All missing documentation and/or information will be obtained.
