Reviewed the two part cleaning and sanitization process for diaper changing
Reviewed the importance of labeling and storing of bleach spray.
Reviewed the importance of placing child locks on any doors that the children have access to
Reminded provider that 2 shelter in place drills must be completed each year.
- Comments:

An unannounced renewal inspection was conducted with the provider on February 23, 2023 beginning at 10:12 a.m. and ending at 11:51 a.m. There were nine children in care of the provider and one assistant during the inspection. The children?s ages were 7 months, 8 months, 2, 2, 3, 3, 3, 4 and 4 for a total of 22 points. The children were observed interacting with the assistant, engaging in free play, and watching an educational television show. Four children?s records and three household records were reviewed and were in compliance. There were no medications on site to be reviewed. The emergency escape drill log was reviewed. The most recent emergency evacuation drill was documented as January 27, 2023. The most recent shelter-in-place drill was documented as November 15, 2022. The first aid kit, flashlight, and weather band radio were reviewed and in compliance.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-280 Description: Based on observation, the provider did not ensure poisonous substances were inaccessible to children. Evidence: Near the diaper changing area, a bottle of disinfecting spray was left on the counter. Plan of Correction: The bottle was secured during the inspection. The provider stated that cleaning supplies are usually stored in a locked area but it was left out because she hadn't completed cleaning when she was called away.
