Consultation was given regarding the poured in place resilient surfacing on the playground.
An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted on August 4, 2015. At the time of entrance there were 72 children and 12 staff members present with children. The sample size consisted of 6 staff and 4 children's records. Children were observed eating lunch, reading books, working on number and letter recognition activities and playing with blocks. Previous violations were reviewed and corrected. Areas of non-compliance are identified on the violation notice. The inspection began at approximately 11:00 A.M. and ended at approximately 2:05 P.M.. Please complete the columns for description of action to be taken and date to be corrected for each violation cited on the violation notice, and then return a signed copy to the licensing office within 10 calendar days of receipt. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-D Description: Based on documentation review, the licensee did not ensure the center implemented a monthly practice evacuation drill. Evidence: During the inspection on August 4, 2015, there was not documentation available indicating a practice drill was conducted in May 2015. Plan of Correction: Center management will ensure that a monthly fire drill is done. Center Director will send a copy of the drill chart to the DM for verification on or before the 30th of each month to ensure compliance.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-F Description: Based on observation, the licensee did not ensure when the center provides meals or snacks the most recent, age-appropriate nutritional requirements of a recognized authority such as the Child and Adult Care Food Program of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) was met. Evidence: During the inspection on August 4, 2015, lunch time in the schoolage classroom was observed and 2 (child #2 and child #3) out of 7 children were not served milk (fluid) and 1 (child #1) out of the 7 was only served fruit. All 4 food groups, fruit/vegetables, grains/breads, meat/meat alternate and milk (fluid) are required to be served to meet USDA. Plan of Correction: All staff will be retrained on all USDA meal standards on or before August 18, 2015. Management will observe daily for compliance.
