Today's visit was a routine monitoring inspection. There were sixty-six children present between the ages of sixteen months and five years with eleven staff members. During the inspection outdoor playtime and all playgrounds were viewed, diapering was observed, lunch time was observed, hand washing was observed, nap time was observed, five out of sixteen staff records were reviewed, four out of one hundred twenty children's records were reviewed, the center's emergency plan was reviewed, and some additional policies and procedures were reviewed. Thank you for your time, please call me at 540-309-2051.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-500-B Description: Based on the inspector's observations at the diaper changing area in the classroom for the two year old children, the center failed to ensure exam gloves were available for diapering. Evidence: The inspector observed gloves approved for food service use for diapering in the classroom for the two year old children. Gloves available for diapering are required to be exam gloves. Plan of Correction: The owner will purchase exam gloves for all of the diapering areas.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-510-G Description: Based on the inspector's review of three medications present at the facility, the center failed to ensure a prescription medication was not maintained in the original labeled container. Evidence: The inspector viewed a prescription inhaler that was not in its original container with original label. Plan of Correction: The PD has spoken with the parent and requested the original box with the prescription label to be brought to the center by the next program week.
