?**Effective January 1, 2025, the VDOE will begin determining compliance with ? 22.1-289.057 of the Code of Virginia, which is legislation passed by the General Assembly in 2020. The law requires all licensed child day programs, religious exempt child day centers that serve preschool age children, and certified preschools to test potable drinking water. The law requires that programs submit their plans and test results to the Virginia Department of Health Office of Drinking Water (VDH ODW) and the Superintendent. If the results of the testing indicate elevated lead levels, the program shall remediate, retest, and resubmit results to VDH ODW and the Superintendent. There is an additional alternative bottled water option that comes with additional requirements. The facility is reminded that a complete renewal application must be submitted prior to expiration of the license on January 6, 2025. Renewal applications should be submitted through the online portal available on the public website at childcareva.com.

An unannounced, on-site monitoring inspection was initiated on August 1, 2024 and
completed on August 1, 2024, as a part of the current licensure period. The on-site inspection began at 8:45am and ended at 9:30am. The inspector reviewed compliance
in the areas listed above. There were 8 children present and 2 staff. The inspector reviewed 3
children?s records and 2 staff records on site.
This inspection included:
? document review (Injury logs, policies and procedures, emergency drill logs, medication
administration logs, authorization forms, postings.
? tour of the facility
? interviews with staff and children
? observation of the children, watching TV, finishing breakfast, preparing to leave on a field trip to the park.
Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or
law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-180-A Description: Based on record review, the provider did not obtain subsequent TB screenings at least every two years from the date of the initial screening, or more frequently if recommended by a physician.
Evidence:
Staff #2's record contained documentation of a tuberculosis screening dated 06/22/2022. Documentation of a subsequent tuberculosis screening was not available for review.Plan of Correction: Staff member made appointment for TB screening while licensor was present during inspection.
