Comments:
An unannounced, on-site monitoring inspection was completed on 08/07/2024 as a part of licensure period. The on-site inspection began at 11:05am and ended at 12:30pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 5 children present and 1 caregiver. The inspector reviewed 4 children?s records and 3 caregiver/household records. This inspection included a document review, tour of the home, interviews and observations. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-940-A
Description: Based on observation the licensee did not ensure the freezer temperature was maintained at or below 0?F.
Evidence:
The refrigerator had a digital thermometer built-in that gave an electronic reading on the front. The temperature for the freezer read 5 degrees Fahrenheit.

Plan of Correction: A family member had the freezer open causing the temperature reading to rise. The licensee set the freezer to zero degrees during the inspection.
