Discussion was held on the topics of current enrollment and current staffing.
The following inspection took place between the hours of 2 pm through 4 pm. Today, I met with the Staff of the County After-School Activities (CASA) program located on site at John Tolbert Elementary school in Leesburg, Virginia. At the start of this unannounced renewal inspection there were a total of 34 children with 2 staff; good ratio for the one large. A total of 3 children?s files were reviewed. Staff files will be reviewed on a later date through the PRCS main office. The children were engaged in the following: circle time, bathroom breaks, hand washing, snack, homework time, games, art, and other organized activities. During today's inspection the facility lost power, both staff and children work together in a manner that made the most out of this situation all the while keeping everyone safe. If you should have any future questions, please call. Thank you. Charlie Perkins, Licensing Inspector (703) 309-3963
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-F Description: Based on review, the center did not follow the most recent, age-appropriate nutritional requirements of a recognized authority such as the Child and Adult Care Food Program of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Evidence - 1. On the date of inspection (09/24/2015), only 1 of 2 components were selected for snack off of the Child Care Food Program Meal Pattern. 2. Animal crackers (which satisfies the grains/bread component) was served with only water. Another component either from milk, or fruit/vegetable, or meat/meat alternate should have been included with the animal crackers but was not. Plan of Correction: In the future all servings of snack will offer at least two of the four components.
