- Technical Assistance:
Consultation was given on the room arrangement in the before and after care classrooms and having parents cut up grapes and other large round food to ensure it does not cause a choking hazard. Teachers will need to monitor lunches and assist with cutting up food if it continues to be sent in to the preschool in large pieces. Please refer to page 59 in the CDC Technical Assistance Guidance for potential choking hazards.
An unannounced monitoring visit was conducted. All rooms were in ratio with direct care staff. Children were observed transitioning to an outside walk, playing on the local playground, reading and diapering, preparation for lunch and transition to free play. Rooms are well equipped with age appropriate materials for children. Emergency medications are on site with three staff having current Medication Administration Training certification. Authorizations for medications are complete with parent and physician signatures. Emergency preparation is current. Areas of non-compliance are identified in this report. Please sign and date the report and return it to me within 10 calendar days from date of receipt. If you have any questions regarding the inspection, please feel free to contact me.
