An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today on 10/8/2015. There were 14 children in care with two teaching staff present. The inspector arrived at 9:15 am and departed the program at 12:30. The inspector reviewed two children's and two staff's record during the inspection. Observed the children during: center time, painting, story time, circle time, lunch, story time, music/dance time and the start of nap. Discussion with site staff: sanitizing the tables by kitchen staff prior to entering the cafeteria, and making sure that all children that are receiving special services are signing the children out.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A Description: Based on review of two children's records, the center failed to ensure that all records were complete. Evidence: 1. The inspector found that children # 1 and 2 did not have a start date documented. Plan of Correction: The family service worker will document all required information in the records and monitor.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-K Description: Based on observation, the center failed to ensure that the tables were sanitized before eating. Evidence: 1. The inspector observed the teacher using soap and water before eating. The tables were not sanitized. Plan of Correction: The teacher stated that the janitor usually does the sanitizing. The class that uses the tables prior to the class was running late and they were not done.
