1. Reviewed reasons for allowing children over the age of 12 months, who are typically developmentally ready to transition to a cot/nap map, to sleep in cribs.
2. Discussed use of a single-use disposable pad on the diaper changing surface.
3. Effective January 1, 2025, the VDOE will begin determining compliance with Potable Water Lead Testing set by the Code of Virginia, which is legislation assed by the General Assembly in 2020. The law requires all licensed child day programs that serve preschool age children, to test potable drinking water. The law requires that programs submit their plans and test results to the Virginia Department of Health Office of Drinking Water (VDH ODW) and the Superintendent. If the results of the testing indicate elevated lead levels , the program shall remediate, retest, and resubmit results to VDH ODW and the Superintendent. There is an additional alternative bottled water option that comes with additional requirements.

An unannounced, on-site monitoring inspection was conducted on 9/26/24. The Department issued a Final Order to deny renewal application for a license on8/22/24 as a result of high-risk violations. The on-site inspection began at 2:45pmand ended at 4:05pm. The inspectors reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 6 children present and 2 caregivers; the point total was 14 points. The inspectors reviewed 7 children?s records and 1 caregiver record while on-site. This inspection included document review, tour of the daycare areas of the home and interviews. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.
Please complete the plan of correction (POC) and date to be corrected sections for each violation cited on the violation notice. Specify how the violation will be or has been corrected. Submit your POC within five (5) business days from today, which will be the close of business on 10/4/24. A POC submitted after this date will not appear on the public website.

Standard #: 22.1-289.011-F Description: The license and any other documents required by the Superintendent shall be posted in a conspicuous place on the licensed premises.
The findings from the most recent inspection, dated 9/13/24, were not posted in the home.Plan of Correction: We were told the inspection on 9/13/24 was not an actual full inspection but just to check # of children. We will now post this 9/26 inspection report.
Standard #: 22.1-289.023-A Description: Notice of the Superintendent's intent to take any of the actions, the Final Order to deny renewal application of the license, shall be posted in a prominent place at each public entrance of the licensed premises to advise consumers of serious or persistent violations.
The Final Order, dated 8/22/24, was not posted at the public entrance, or in the home.Plan of Correction: The NOI was posted we will post the denial - final order as it is the most recent. We do plan to appeal and all is in process. We are in no way a threat to children enrolled in our daycare.
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-680-B Description: Caregivers shall ensure that children's hands are washed with liquid soap and warm running water before eating and after toileting or diapering.
3 children were observed playing with toys before eating an afternoon snack without first washing their hands.
After a diaper change, 1 child was placed on the floor and returned to playing with toys without first washing their hands.Plan of Correction: We will post a sign regarding reminder to wash hands after Nap-Time and before any eating and /or diaper changes.
