An unannounced renewal was conducted from 9:18 am. - 12:05 p.m. There were forty-six children in care with six teachers working directly with them. There was another staff person available to assist as needed. Three children's records were reviewed. One staff record was reviewed. The younger children were observed washing their hands, working on self-help skills, taking off their shoes and putting them back on, talking with one another and with the teachers, following directions, washing dishes, having snack, during language work, matching and identifying and playing outside. The older children were observed working with numbers, writing in the sand, exploring and setting up solar system visuals, writing, collecting their work for their individual folders, reading, looking at books, coloring maps, working with puzzles, drawing and writing on the board, during circle time and playing outside.
