An unannounced, on-site renewal inspection was initiated on December 18, 2024 and completed on December 18, 2024, as a part of current licensure period. The on-site inspection began at 9:15am and ended at 11:00am. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 8 children present and 2 caregivers. The inspector reviewed 3 children?s records and 6 caregiver/household members records on site.
This inspection included: document review, tour of the facility, interviews, and observations.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-240-A Description: Areas of the family day home, will be maintained in a safe condition.
A basket containing hand sanitizer and diaper creams was stored on the diaper changing table within reach of the children.Plan of Correction: Corrected during inspection. We will store the basket in a locked cabinet inaccessible to the children.
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-430-A Description: Children under two years of age and children over two years of age who are not developmentally ready to climb or descend stairs without supervision shall not have access to stairs.
The gate at the bottom of the stairs was left open.Plan of Correction: The gate will be kept closed at all times when not being used.
