Unless otherwise noted as a violation within this inspection report, the provider was in compliance with the standards reviewed. If there were any serious injuries or fatalities related to a violation, the details will be included in the description of the violation.

Technical Assistance:

Effective January 1, 2025, the VDOE will begin determining compliance with ? 22.1-289.057 of the Code of Virginia, which is legislation passed by the General Assembly in 2020. The law requires all licensed child day programs, religious exempt child day centers that serve preschool age children, and certified preschools to test potable drinking water. The law requires that programs submit their plans and test results to the Virginia Department of Health Office of Drinking Water (VDH ODW) and the Superintendent. If the results of the testing indicate elevated lead levels, the program shall remediate, retest, and resubmit results to VDH ODW and the Superintendent. There is an additional alternative bottled water option that comes with additional requirements. Comments:

An unannounced, on-site renewal inspection was initiated and completed on December 19, 2024. The on-site inspection began at 2:00pm and ended at 3:30pm. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were three children present and two caregivers; the point total was eight. The inspector reviewed three children?s records, and three caregiver/household members records on-site. This inspection included document review, tour of the facility, interviews, and observations. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #:	8VAC20-800-800-B
Description:	The provider shall review the emergency plan at least annually and update the plan as needed. The provider shall document in writing each review and update to the emergency plan. The most recent review and update of the emergency plan was documented on November 30, 2023.
Plan of Correction:	I will review the emergency preparedness plan today and document that review with my signature and date.
Standard #:	8VAC20-800-60-B
Description:	A child's record shall include the name, address and telephone number of two designated persons to contact in case of an emergency if the parent cannot be reached, as well as documentation of an annual review of the child?s emergency contact information. The records for Child #1 and Child #2 were missing required information for one of the two designated emergency contacts. Additionally, the records for Child #1 did not contain documentation of an annual review of emergency contact information, despite the child attending the family day home for over 13 months.
Plan of Correction:	I will have the parents send me the required information to add to the children's records.
