During the inspection, the inspector reviewed the areas listed above to include standards found out of compliance during the previous inspection. Unless otherwise noted as a violation within this inspection report, the provider was in compliance with the standards reviewed. If there were any serious injuries or fatalities related to a violation, the details will be included in the description of the violation.

Comments:
An unannounced, on-site monitoring inspection was initiated on and completed on January 22, 2025. The on-site inspection began at 9:15am and ended at 10:15am. The inspector reviewed compliance in the areas listed above. There were 10 children present and 2 caregivers; the point total was 30. The inspector reviewed 5 children?s records and 3 caregiver/household member(s) records on-site. This inspection included document review, tour of the facility, interviews, and observation. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Violations:
Standard #: 8VAC20-800-830-A
Description: The emergency evacuation procedures shall be practiced monthly with all caregivers and children in care during all shifts that children are in care.

The emergency evacuation procedures were not practiced in the months of November and December.

Plan of Correction: I think we did the drills and just forgot to record it. I will make sure to always record them.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-60-B
Description: A child's record shall contain documentation of the parental annual review of the child's emergency contact information.
The emergency contact information for child #1 has not been reviewed in over one year.

Plan of Correction: I will have the parent review the child's records.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-140-B-3
Description: REPEAT VIOLATION
Provider must have a current certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), as appropriate to the age of the children in care, from the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, American Safety and Health Institute, or the National Safety Council.
The certification in CPR for caregiver #1 expired two weeks ago.

Plan of Correction: I will take the CPR class before the end of the month and make sure to renew it before it expires in the future.

Standard #: 8VAC20-800-400-A
Description: The temperature in all inside areas occupied by children shall be maintained no lower than 65?F.

The inside temperature occupied by children was 50 degrees when the inspector arrived at 9:15am.

Plan of Correction: I am working to figure out why the heat is off. It just went out about an hour ago. If it isn't working by lunch time, we will close for the day.
