A sample of 2 children's records and 2 staff records were reviewed. The physical plant, emergency supplies and procedures were also reviewed. No medications were reported to be on site. The children were engaged in various activities, to include: free play, outdoor time, card games, art activities, infant care and feeding. Areas of non-compliance are identified in this report. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-D Description: Based upon documentation reviewed, the center did not implement a monthly practice evacuation drill. Evidence: An evacuation drill was not practiced on: September and October, 2015. Plan of Correction: We practiced shelter in place of those two months. Will make sure to do both forms next time.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-570-A Description: Based upon observations made and interview, when a child was placed in an infant seat, the protective belt was not fastened securely. Evidence: Upon arriving to the infant classroom at approximately 10:20am, Child A was observed in a bouncy chair drinking his bottle and the protective belt was not fastened securely. Staff interviews confirmed that Child A tends to unbuckled himself. Plan of Correction: Will make sure that the child's buckled on a high chair and not on a bouncy chair.
