Technical Assistance:
Discussion was held on the topics of current enrollment and current staffing. Discussion of issues around snack; the offering of two separate areas from the 4 food groups, and having the day's menu reflect accurately what is served.

Comments:
The following inspection took place between the hours of 2 pm through 3:30 pm. Today, I met with the Staff of the County After-School Activities (CASA) program held on site at John Tolbert Elementary school located in the town of Leesburg, Virginia. At the start of this unannounced monitoring inspection there were a total of 27 children with 2 staff; good ratio for this 1 group. A total of 3 children?s files were reviewed. Staff files were reviewed on an earlier date. The children were engaged in the following: arrival, bathroom breaks, hand washing, snack, games, large motor skills outside, and other organized activities. If you should have any future questions, please call. Thank you. Charlie Perkins, Licensing Inspector (703) 309-3963

Violations:
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-F
Description: Based on review, the menu did not reflect all items served for snack. Evidence - 1. On the date of inspection (03/08/2016), in order to follow the most recent, age-appropriate nutritional requirements of a recognized authority such as the Child Care Food Program of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Cheerios cereal were added to the offering of pears that were served with water. 2. The Cheerios cereal was not listed on today's posted menu.

Plan of Correction: Menus will reflect all items served for each separate day.
