A subsidy health and safety inspection (SHSI) was conducted in conjunction with the licensing inspection. Subsidy standards that are not covered in licensing standards were reviewed during this SHSI. Information gathered during the inspection determined non-compliance with applicable standards or law, and violations are documented on the violation notice issued to the program.

Standard #: 8VAC20-790-250-F Description: Caregivers who work directly with children shall, in addition to preservice and orientation training required, shall annually attend at least 16 hours of training, to include the department's health and safety update course (Virginia Health + Safety Training, 3 hour course).
1. Documentation of training indicated that the last time the caregiver #1, caregiver completed the course was 12/5/23.
2. There was no documentation that substitute caregiver #1 and caregiver #2have completed the course.Plan of Correction: Was under the impression that this was done every 3 years. Will complete this training once back in the states. and have my assistants and substitute do it as well. [sic]
