- Technical Assistance:
Discussed sanitizing with bleach and water, make a solution by filling up a spray bottle and adding a teaspoon of bleach.
An annual health and safety inspection was conducted today. The vendor was present with 3 children in care and her own two children, totaling 10 points. The children were observed playing and watching a TV show at the beginning of the inspection.. Lunch today the children had soup with rice and beans for lunch. Lots of interaction between vendor and children. Toys and space are easy for the children to navigate. The vendor provides meals and takes the children on walks to the park. Standard #: VENDHOM-000-005-B Description: Based on the review of the vendors paperwork and interview with the vendor it was determined that the vendor has not maintain a written hard copy record of daily attendance that documents the arrival and departure of each child in care as it occurs. Evidence: The vendor has attendance record for children until 8/13/2018 but ran out of space and has not taken attendance since. Plan of Correction: I will make sure I do attendance, I will write in on a piece of paper until I get the form.
Standard #: VENDHOM-000-006-A Description: Based on the review of children's records, it was determined that the vendor failed to have a written or electronic record for one child in care. Evidence: According to interview with the vendor , child B is here just for today as drop in care and the vendor did not have her fill out any paperwork. Plan of Correction: I will make sure I get information when children come for drop in care. This child is just here today.
Standard #: VENDHOM-000-006-B Description: Based on the review of 4 children's records it was determined that, the vendor failed to get some of the required components to make the child's record complete. Evidence: Based on the review of enrollment forms for child A the emergency contacts for the child is the mother and father rather than a different person in case the parents can't be reached. Plan of Correction: I will ask the parents for a different emergency contact.
Standard #: VENDHOM-000-013-A Description: Based on the review of the physical plant, it was determined that the vendor failed to keep the back yard in a clean safe and operable condition. Evidence: The back yard was observed and the following was found: The fence has several broken boards and is held together with bungee cords. The yard has pieces of plywood and concrete as well as trash. Plan of Correction: We will clean up the back yard , but I only use the front yard for the children. we clean the back yard every two weeks.
Standard #: VENDHOM-000-023-I Description: Based on the observation during the inspection it was determined that the vendor failed to keep children under two from resting with pillows in cribs. Evidence: At the beginning at the inspection a 1.5 year old child was observed resting in a crib with a pillow and a fleece blanket. Plan of Correction: I will remove the pillows and fluffy blankets from the crib.
Standard #: VENDHOM-000-026-A-2 Description: Based on observation during the inspection, it was determined that the vendor failed to wash the hands of a child after toileting Evidence: The vendor was observed changing a child's diaper and failed to wash the child's hands after the diaper change. Plan of Correction: I will make sure I wash the children's hands after diapering
Standard #: VENDHOM-000-026-E-3 Description: Based on the observation of the vendor changing a child's diaper, it was determined that the vendor failed to clean and sanitize the diaper changing surface after changing a diaper. Plan of Correction: I will make sure I sanitize the diaper mat after each use.
