Today an unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted beginning at 3pm. There were 23 children present with two staff. Children were observed finishing homework and participating at various stations including tablets, puzzles, play-dough and games before going outside to the playground. There are currently no medications for children on-site at this time. Emergency contact information for a substitute supervisor was reviewed, as well as staff first aid and cpr certifications, and five children's records. This inspection, including the exit interview, ended at 4:15pm. Should you have any questions, please call.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-560-F Description: Based on observation, the center did not follow the most recent, age-appropriate nutritional requirements of a recognized authority such as the Child and Adult Care food Program of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). Evidence: Only 1 of the 2 required food components is being served today for snack. Animal crackers with a bottle of water was offered. Animal crackers meets the nut & grain component, however, water does not meet the requirement of a meat, fruit/vegetable or dairy component. Plan of Correction: We will discuss the current food menu with the cafeteria management and CASA administration to make sure we are meeting requirements of USDA.
