63.2 Facilities and Programs..
An unannounced inspection was conducted jointly with another local agency in response to an incident that was self-reported by the center regarding a staff member roughly handling a child. Video camera footage, photographs and documentation were reviewed. A preponderance of evidence supports a violation for forbidden actions. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-410-1 Description: Based on video camera footage and photographs, a staff member participated in the forbidden action of roughly handling a three year old child. Evidence: On May 4, 2016 Staff A roughly grabbed Child 1 by the upper arm, thus causing slightly red bruising. Plan of Correction: The employee was immediately terminated and all staff members were retrained on appropriate handling and behavior management with young children.
