Technical Assistance:
Transition to outside was discussed. Also, discussed incidents of biting and center's procedures in dealing with these incidents.

Comments:
An unannounced inspection was conducted this morning from 10-1130. The Inspector met with the new Director and walked through both buildings and observed the outside playgrounds. The Inspector reviewed records, observed classroom activities, and observed staff to child interactions. The classes were in ratio, and activities were age and stage appropriate. The Inspector also observed infants being cared for on the outside playground. Please call with questions 703-479-4679

Description: Based on staff interviews and request of record review, the center has not maintained and kept a record for a child at this location. Interviews about a child's medical issues were discussed and the Inspector requested to review this child's file. The staff could not locate the file and contacted the Administrator by phone who stated it was in his possession.

Description: Based on observation of building one in which preschool children are located, the center's access to one, of two bathrooms, was not maintained in a safe condition because it required walking through the storage closet that contained hot water heater and all of the electrical/cables consoles.

Description: Based on observation of building one, the center had cleaning and disinfectant sprays in ares not locked and deemed accessible to the children in care. The preschool class had cleaning sprays located in an unlocked lower cabinet which was directly in the classroom and in the front entrance, there was disinfectant spray located in an unlocked cabinet.
