22VAC40-185 SPECIAL CARE PROVISIONS AND EMERGENCIES.
An unannounced complaint inspection was initiated in the center on July 14, 2016 and completed it on July 20, 2016 in response to a complaint that was received regarding the area of programs and special care provisions and emergencies. Related observations were made, documentation was reviewed and interviews were conducted with center staff and with other parties involved. Based on the information obtained during the inspection the preponderance of evidence does not support the allegation related to programs regarding forbidden actions and special care provisions and emergencies, however the preponderance of evidence does support the allegation related to programs regarding linens and therefore the complaint is noted as valid. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-450-C Complaint related: Yes Description: Based on observation and staff interviews, the licensee did not ensure there were clean linens for the children to use during rest period. Evidence: During the inspection on July 14, 2016 four linens (blankets) in room 103 and two linens in room 104 were observed stored in a manner that did not ensure they were clean. They were observed laying on top of each other and have come into contact with another child's linen and are no longer considered clean. Center staff confirmed they were being used by the children during their rest period. Plan of Correction: The director retrained the staff and removed all unclean linens and will wash them.
