Comments:
An unannounced inspection was done today June 24, 2016 in response to a center reported complaint received from the center director. The report indicated staff at the center were putting their knees into the backs of children who don't lay down or don't go to sleep. The staff yell in the ears of the children to be quiet, lay down and go to sleep. The staff also put the blankets over the faces of the children and make them leave it there thus causing the child to have trouble breathing when this happened. It was also reported that the staff will restrain children by grabbing their arms and wrapping their legs around the children's legs. The inspector interviewed some of the staff at the center and viewed the children preparing for nap and during nap. The inspector also contacted the social services agency representative who interviewed staff at the center on an earlier date. Based on information obtained from the observations, interviews and contact with other local social service agency staff it was determined there were no licensing standards in violation.
