The licensing inspector conducted an unannounced monitoring inspection on August 23, 2016 from approximately 1:50pm to 5:00pm. The following ratios were observed with a total of 59 children present during the inspection:
Infants - 5 children with 2 staff
Toddlers - 5 children with 1 staff
Twos - 8 children with 2 staff
Threes ? 13 children with 2 staff
Fours & Fives (JK) - 12 children with 2 staff
School Age children - 16 children with 2 staff
During the inspection, the Infants were observed having their diapers changed, playing on the floor with toys and sleeping in their cribs. The Toddlers were observed having sunscreen applied, playing with toys and playing outside. The Twos classroom was observed playing outside on the playground. The Threes classroom was observed having circle time where the teacher read the book ?Pete the Cat Plays Ball?, children sang songs, and then played in various centers including legos, trucks, doll house, pretended to be veterinarians, and looked at bugs with magnifying glasses. The JK classroom was observed playing outside, having the book "I Took My Frog to the Library" read to them and played in centers where the children colored, played with the doll house, read books, and built with legos. The school age children were observed playing outside. Staff was observed interacting with the children and providing assistance when needed. Afternoon snack consisted of cheese and crackers and water. All areas of the facility including classrooms, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen, and playgrounds were inspected. The facility was equipped with toys and supplies and items were available to the children.
The following information was reviewed during the inspection: emergency supplies, injury reports, fire and shelter-in-place drills, liability insurance policy, field trip permission slips, daily attendance, daily sheets, parent agreements, and staff training information. Medication is administrated. Medication and authorization forms were reviewed.
