22VAC40-191 Background Checks (22VAC40-191)

An unannounced complaint investigation and monitoring inspection were initiated on 7/28/16 at 2pm. The complaint investigation was in response to concerns regarding the cleanliness of the center, staff turnover and a possible bug infestation. Careful observations were made and interviews were conducted. The preponderance of evidence gathered during the investigation does not support the allegations, so the complaint is determined to be "not valid". Monitoring inspection on 7/28: The physical plant, 4 staff files, 4 children's files, annual fire inspection, staff training, children's activities, medications, emergency procedures, drills and supplies were inspected today. There were 24 children under the supervision of 8 teachers. The children were observed taking naps, completing their workbook assignments (math and writing) and coloring pictures. The interactions between the children and staff were seen to be positive and constructive in nature. There is currently 1 staff certified in MAT (medication administration training).
