Comments:
Today an unannounced monitoring visit was conducted with the Principal. This visit took place in the morning between 9:30-12noon. There were 7 classrooms were observed during this visit with a total of 94 children with 16 staff within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed having morning snack (fruit cocktail) outdoor free play, learning about sensory & pumpkins this week, making pumpkins, lunch and in transition for nap time. Positive interactions were observed during this inspection. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children and staff records, fire drill log, medication and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A
Description: Based on observation of the physical plant, the following areas of the center were found not being maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition. Evidence: In Pre-K2 classroom, chipped paint was found along the wall in the bathroom.

Plan of Correction: Principal stated that she will have it repainted by the end of the week.

Standard #: 22VAC40-185-330-B
Description: Based on observation, the playground's resilient surfacing has not been maintained. Evidence: On the play structure closest to the building, the resilient surfacing underneath the slide has been maintained by using a cement like material which does not comply with the standards required for appropriate resilient surfacing underneath a fall zone.

Plan of Correction: Principal will have maintenance come out to replace the rubber mat under the slide.
