Today an unannounced monitoring visit was conducted with the Director. This visit took place in the morning, there were 7 classrooms observed with a total of 62 children with 14 staff within the supervision guidelines. The children were observed having morning free play, arriving to school, morning snack, circle time, story-time. Positive interactions were observed during this inspection. A complete inspection of the physical plant, children records, fire drill log, medication and emergency procedures were observed during this inspection. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Description: Based on observation of the physical plant, the following area was found not being maintained in a clean, safe and operable condition. Evidence: In the Toddler classroom, chipped/peeling paint was found along the wall near the book station. Plan of Correction: Director stated that they had some stickers on the wall and the stickers were taken off and left the wall with chipped paint. Director notified maintenance and will have it corrected.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-550-D Description: Based on a review of the monthly fire drill log, center did not have documentation for the month of March. Evidence: No documentation that a fire drill was conducted for the month of July & September. Plan of Correction: Director state that she will make sure that a fire drill is conducted each month & documented.
