22VAC40-185 PHYSICAL PLANT.
An unannounced inspection was conducted on October 12, 2016 from 3:30 p.m. through 4:30 p.m. in response to a complaint that was received by the Valley Licensing office on 10/12/2016. Interviews were conducted with three staff and the playground was inspected. The information gathered during this investigation supports the allegation. The complaint is valid. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-270-A Complaint related: Yes Description: The fencing around the playground, facing the housing development, had four areas that were not anchored and could entangle clothing or snag skin. Evidence: Based on observation and conversation with the director, it was confirmed the fence had four areas that were not anchored. Plan of Correction: 13 4x4?s were added to the bottom of the fence with 104 anchors to secure the 4X4?s to the fence to ensure that a child can not entangle clothing or snag skin. NOTE: A fence is not required for a playground. Bright Beginnings chooses to provide a fenced in playground to ensure the safety of all children.
