An unannounced monitoring inspection was conducted today from 10:00am-11:35am. There were 10 children (infants-5yrs.) directly supervised by 5 staff within required ratios. The physical plant, 2 staff records, 3 children?s records, evacuation drills, injury reports, emergency supplies, and policies were inspected. Children were observed participating in group play and preparing to play outside. Diapering and hand-washing procedures were also observed. There was an abundant supply of materials for the children. The center was clean and organized. Areas of non-compliance are identified in the Violation Notice. Standard #: 22VAC40-185-60-A-7 Description: Based on review of children's files actions to be taken in an emergency situation were not listed for a child with an allergy. Evidence: Child #3 had a food allergy listed without actions to be taken in the event contact was made with that food. Plan of Correction: During Inspection, Mother of child was called and provided the information required. Mother will review file upon pick up.
Standard #: 22VAC40-185-540-E Description: Based on review of supplies all non-medical emergency supplies were not available during inspection. Evidence: Director provided a solar powered radio, not a battery operated radio as required. Plan of Correction: I will order battery operated radio
